Join a Team

Here are some ways you can serve in Guest Services:

Cafe -  Our Café provides a place for connection, a good cup of coffee, and breakfast foods.  If you enjoy serving others with a smile, consider serving in the Café! Commitment:  One Sunday monthly Before Serving: Complete Belong and attend Café training session. A background check required.

Greeters - Do you enjoy welcoming guests and regular attenders to church with a smile and word of greeting? Direct parents to the Kid's Hub and invite guests to get a cup of coffee in the Cafe! You can be the front line of hospitality! Commitment: One Sunday monthly (before the 9 a.m. or 11 a.m. service) Before Serving: Complete Belong and attend greeter training session.

Ushers - Do you like to be a part of making everyone feel at home? Welcome guests, help them find their seat, and put valuable resources into people's hands. Commitment: One Sunday monthly (9 a.m. or 11 a.m. service) Before Serving: Complete Belong, attend usher training session and background check required.

Communion - Join our communion team to be part of the setup or serve team. Commitment: One Sunday, four to five times per year (either 9 or 11 a.m. service)  or at an Evening Service on Good Friday or at our Night of Worship. Before Serving: Complete Belong, and be trained in the communion process.

Hubs - If you enjoy helping people connect with what is happening at Petra, then joining the Hubs team will give you opportunities to do just that! This team helps our church family connect to communities, opportunities, and events at Petra. When needs arise, help connect people to solutions - serving as a dispatch/call center for emergency and/or medical needs. Commitment: One Sunday morning service a month. One-year commitment. Before Serving:  Complete Belong.

Resource Hub - Helping our church family find resources to help them grow is important. Provide cashier services and answer questions to help everyone find and purchase the resources they are looking for and register for events. Commitment: One Sunday monthly (10:15 – 11 a.m.). Before Serving: Complete Belong. Be trained on our available resources and our register system; experience on cash register preferred. 

Safety - Join our Safety Team by providing a safe environment for all our guests, especially children on the Petra Campus. Commitment: One Sunday monthly (9 a.m. or 11 a.m. service) Before Serving, Church Requirements: Complete Belong, Complete and submit a Petra Service Application, Attend Safety Training Session State Requirements: PA State Police Criminal Clearance. Child Abuse Clearance, FBI Fingerprint Clearance, FBI Volunteer Affidavit
