Fasting | Petra Church

Petra Church’s theme for 2026 is “Seek.” For the fasting week, we will look throughout the Scripture at the names of God and who Scripture says he is. Through these readings, we strive to know God as Jehovah Mephalti (The Lord My Deliverer), Jehovah Tsidkenu (The Lord Our Righteousness), Jehovah Rapha (The Lord Our Healer), Jehovah Jireh (The Lord Our Provider), Jehovah Nissi (The Lord My Banner), Jehovah Mauzzi (The Lord My Fortress), and Jehovah Shalom (The Lord Our Peace). So, while we, a community and body of Christ, take this week to refocus our minds and hearts on leading the life God desires for us, take comfort in the fact that he is all we need and could ever want.

Each day, we will focus on the individual names of God and deepen our understanding of how they apply to our personal lives, so that we can rely on and seek the Lord wholeheartedly, as 1 Chronicles 16:11 instructs us. We invite you to read, fast, and join in the prayers of everyone here at Petra Church. Ask God how he would have you fast for the upcoming week. The Sanctuary will be open Monday – Friday from 6:00 AM – 8:30 PM for a time of personal prayer.
Eight interactive prayer stations will also be set up during these times.
