We are excited to welcome you to our team!! Our mission is to provide a safe and secure environment for our church family to experience the presence of the Lord and community with other believers.
To get started, we do need all of our volunteers to have 3 state-required clearances. Below are some simple, easy-to-follow instructions you will need to file your volunteer clearances. These must be done on a desktop, not a phone as the browsers are not supported.

Here are the links you need to file your “Volunteer” clearances. These must be done on a desktop, not a phone. The browsers are not supported!
1. Child Abuse Clearance https://www.compass.state.pa.us/cwis/public/home
- Go to “Create Individual Account”
- On “Welcome! Page” click “Next”
- Create keystone id, you can use your email address or a username.
- Write down and save keystone id, PW and security questions and answers
- Complete the rest of the info. Name, DOB, email, create 3 security questions.
- Click Finish
- You will receive two emails immediately. One with your username, the other with a temporary password. Copy and paste the temp password, log back in and create a permanent password by using the temporary password.
- Write down and save keystone id, PW and security questions and answers.
- Go to Create Application.
- Fill out all the people you have lived with.
- All the address’ you have lived at.
- Submit application. Go slowly!
- When you are finished, there is a button that you can click to immediately view your completed clearance. **Note, sometimes you can do this
- If you were not able to view it right away, you will be sent an email when your clearance is ready. You can access this again when finished to print additional copies of this clearance. You may get an email that states that your clearance will take up to 14 days. Print a copy, and save a copy as a PDF. One will also be mailed to you if you checked that option in your application.

2. PA Criminal Clearance https://epatch.pa.gov/home
- Click on “New Volunteer Record Check”
- Scroll to the bottom of page, check the box, under “Volunteer Acknowledgement Section”
- Then click the “Accept” button
- Type in Petra Church, next to “Volunteer Organization Name”
- Fill in Name, Address, Email, and Phone Number
- Click “Next”
- Review Info, and at the bottom click “Proceed”
- Fill in, First and last name, Social security number, Date of birth, Gender, Race
- Click “Proceed”
- Click “Submit This Request”
- Click “Submit”
- You will see a graph bar spinning and processing, once it stops, your clearance is finished
- Click on the Control number “R – 8 digit number”
- On the right side, you will see the words “certificate Form” in blue, click on that.
- Then click “Save” It will open up and you can print it.
- You will also receive an email.
- Volunteer clearances are Free!
3. PA FBI Affidavit
- If you have lived in the state of PA for 10 or more consecutive years, please print and fill out the attached document. You will need to take this to a local notary and have it notarized for $5.
- If you have not lived in PA for 10 or more consecutive years, then you will need to get an FBI clearance instead, Let me know and I can send you the link for that.
