Lipstick and Crayons is a program designed for women of all ages and walks of life, with a special focus on mothers. It is our desire to inspire and encourage women in their pursuit of Jesus. We do this through building relationships, hearing from special speakers, and praying together. Childcare is available for all children from infants through sixth grade, provided by caring childcare workers with appropriate clearances.

Come and enjoy fellowship and refreshments with us!

L&C Sessions Winter/Spring 2026

January 7th – New Years Goal Setting and Fellowship: Bring a journal, a pen, your new day planner (if you use one), and your favorite mug as we create space to evaluate our goals for the year, highlight our personal and family values, and ask the Lord where we should focus our attentions in 2026. There will also be a hot chocolate bar. This will also be a morning of extended fellowship & free time, so feel free to bring a project or craft you’ve been working on, work on a puzzle with friends, or just sit and chat. This is intentional curated free time for YOU!

January 21st – Taking Thoughts Captive: Marci Dodd, Petra's Lifespring Ministry Director, will share practical tools for taking negative thoughts captive and renewing our minds. A few Lifespring ministry leaders will also join her for brief ministry times to practice these tools and answer questions.

February 4th – Hope Walks Brace Painting Party: Hope Walks is an organization whose mission is to see all children, including those in low income countries, access quality clubfoot care and experience the love of Christ. Guided by Hope Walk’s Project Coordinator, Jenn Boyd, we will be painting braces to correct club feet that will be shipped overseas. Our own L&C’s Becky Zook will also be sharing her testimony of her child’s medical journey as they have also corrected her club feet. We are asking for a $5 donation per person to go towards the purchase of the brace painting kits.

February 18th –  Identity: Lipstick & Crayon's own Samantha Marks will be sharing her testimony on what God has taught her about the importance of finding her identity in Christ.

March 4th – Cultivating Worship in Our Homes: Petra’s Worship Director, Crystal Martin, will be teaching on how we can cultivate worship in our own homes and also leading us in a worship set.

March 18th – Hearing God’s Voice: Jesus, our loving and faithful Shepherd, assures us twice in John 10 that his sheep hear/know/recognize his voice. Janice Baldauf, who has served as a prayer minister at Petra for 30+ years, will share from scripture and her own life's journey how to grow in this very valuable and life-giving grace.

April 1st – Fellowship morning & possible service project: More details to come

April 15th - Time Management – Are You Using Yours Well?: As a busy mom of eight children, Bonni Greiner desperately needed help with time management. There were days she felt like a failure. Through prayer, advice from mentor moms, and trial and error, she came up with 12 tips to help Moms feel good about how they spent their time at the end of the day.

May 6th – Season Finale – Join us for a “Flower Bar” as we end the year with fellowship and arranging our own spring bouquets to grace our homes.

Childcare

Childcare is provided for all children from infants on up.

Drop-off begins at 9:15 a.m.

Although we provide childcare for infants, you are always welcome to keep your baby with you. We are breastfeeding and bottle friendly!

There are separate rooms available for children 0-12 months, 1 year old, 2 years old, 3 years old, 4 years old, and Kindergarten through sixth grade.

At the entrance to each room is a sign-in sheet. Please sign in your child and fill out a security sticker. One section of the sticker will be placed on your child. The other section is for you to keep. When you pick up your child, the workers will do a security check to make sure the numbers on your stickers match before releasing your child to you.

Our childcare workers have all of the appropriate clearances. If there is a problem with your child, someone will walk your child to the Oasis to find you.

Children will be provided with a light snack during their time together (Animal crackers, goldfish crackers etc.). Please alert your child's leader of any allergy concerns. You may bring an alternative snack if you wish.
