“And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus.” Ephesians 2:6
Are you discouraged and feeling beaten? Is the voice of your enemy taunting you? Don’t look to where you’ve been, or where you’re stuck. Look to where Christ says you are and where you are going—with him in the heavenly places.
He is with you in all of his radiant power. Can you see him? Do you need advice? He is with you in all of his perfect counsel. Do you need courage? Lift your eyes off your situation. Look at Christ pulsing with life and serenity. Nothing is a surprise to him. Nothing is a challenge to him. Look to him and drink peace from him this very moment.
And what are you sitting on? It’s not a wheelbarrow, or a stool, or a stump he has placed you on. It’s not a hideaway for cowards. You are on a throne, a throne where decisions are made. There is wisdom and justice and love on this throne, for it is your Fathers’ throne. Father gave it to Christ and Christ gave it to you. He believes in you. He is raising you up to be a ruler. You are his co-heir and his ruler on earth. Your word shrivels the darkness, and plants the light. So, don’t be silent; pray and declare his will.
Perhaps you feel powerless to change others; you have a small station in life. You may say, I have no great influence in life; I am only a ruler over my own heart. That is enough. Govern your own life with the skill and virtue of a statesman. First set your own house in order. No temptation has seized you. No discouragement can cling to you. No distraction or deception can remove you. No confusion can entangle you. No one can steal your purpose or devour your confidence. Christ has given you a spirit of power, love, and of self-discipline. Rise and spread out your wings child of God.
The Bible says you are hidden in Christ. The enemy can’t get at you. The same Christ that is glowing like the sun--he is seated with you. He is your lamp. He is your treasure. He is yours forever, your mighty rock—and in him you are immovable!
