Amber McCabe
Children's Ministry Director
Amber is our Children's Ministry Director! Her role includes overseeing all the functions of our Kingdom Kids Ministry while also providing leadership and support to the staff and volunteers on her team.
Amber grew up in a Christian home in the Ephrata area and accepted Christ at a young age. In college, she rededicated her life to Christ, and that's where her own faith journey began! As she grows in her relationship with Jesus daily, she has learned more about His heart and is grateful for all He's done for her.
Before her new role here at Petra Church, Amber volunteered in the Children's Ministry for 13 years in many different capacities. In 2008, she graduated from Eastern University for Elementary Education with her Master's in Education in Curriculum and Instruction and has worked as an elementary educator since then. She's taught in both the ELANCO and Ephrata Area School Districts for a total of 16 years! Amber has a deep passion for children and loves building relationships with them as she shows them how truly loved and valued they are.
In her free time, Amber loves to spend quality time with her husband, Steve, and their 2 children. She also loves playing games, being outside, reading, watching her kids play soccer, and enjoying a good cup of coffee!
Amber loves to work with the amazing staff and volunteers at Petra Church as we continue to pour truth into the hearts and minds of our littlest disciples! She hopes that all the children who walk through Kingdom Kids' doors will know, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that God loves them deeply - no matter what - and that the seeds of truth planted during their time in the ministry will grow and flourish in the many years to come!
