“Who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good.” Titus 2:14
You will know that you are his when you are eager to do all that is good. The eagerness of your soul is the indicator of your belonging to him. Of course he may have an eternal salvation ready for you. But what he really wants is for your will and your desires to be ready for him. When your mind and heart are coiled with alertness to him, then you will know that you are truly cut out of his fabric--one with him.
Is there hesitation in your heart, is there temerity or resistance, a tepid response or trepidation to follow the call? There you know. Do you have shadows of doubt and wickedness that hang over your heart smothering the breath of the Lord. The pluck and alacrity of the Lord is like a champion horse bursting from the gate to race down the track.
The submitted heart is exuberant at the good will and work of the Father.
It is in our obedience to action that our lives become aligned to the true pattern of God. Are you hesitant? By all means act anyway. Are you hesitant ninety-nine times? Then act until your action is joined by jubilation. The Father will be pleased with your sacrifice. You have defied the temptation of boredom. He will drag your will out of the old reluctance and into agreement with his heart. For sometimes our feet must lead our heart where it needs to go and the Father is making us champions of his great love.
